Ingredients:

Aioli:
2 Tbsp Mayo
1 Tbsp Spicy Brown Mustard
1 1/2 Tbsp Dijon Mustard
1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
1/4 tsp Onion Powder
1/4 tsp Salt

Hand Pies:
1 sheet Puff Pastry
3 slices Deli Ham
2 slices Cheese (we used Pepper Jack)
1 Egg, beaten for egg wash
Flaky Salt
Honey, optional
Football-Shaped Cookie Cutter

Instructions:

  1. In a small bowl, combine all the aioli ingredients and mix. Set aside.
  2. Layer ham and cheese, then cut into six rectangle pieces. Note: these will go inside the puff pastry, so the number of pieces you'll cut may vary depending on how big or small your cookie cutter is.
  3. Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  4. In another small bowl, beat the egg for the egg wash and set aside.
  5. While your oven is preheating, lay out your puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and gently roll a rolling pin over the pastry until the edges are smoothed out.
  6. Using the cookie cutter, cut an even number of footballs into the puff pastry. Place half of the footballs onto the baking sheet and lightly brush the edges with the egg wash.
  7. Spread a thin layer of aioli into the middle of each football followed by one ham and cheese stack.
  8. Place the top layer of puff pastry over the ham and cheese stack, pressing the edges to help them line up. Using a fork, crimp the edges to seal the hand pie and stop your filling from leaking out.
  9. Brush the footballs with the egg wash and sprinkle with salt. Bake for 20 minutes.
Note: check in on your hand pies at around 17 minutes to make sure they are golden brown, not burning.
  10. Drizzle with honey, if using, and serve with the extra aioli.
